Frequently Asked Questions
What is a full spectrum birthworker?
A full spectrum birthworker is a care worker who is (non-medically) trained to handle all phases of reproductive experiences. For me, this includes fertility, birth, abortion, postpartum, and losses such as miscarriage.
What is a deathworker?
A deathworker, sometimes called an end of life or death doula, provides support for a dying person and their loved ones. This support is emotional, spiritual, and practical. Most deathworkers (including me) are not medically trained care providers. Some of the ways this looks in my practice are assisting in the preparing of final documents, sitting vigil in the active labor of dying, and collaborating with the dying person for planning of a funeral, memorial service, or celebration of life.
Where do your offerings take place?
I service the broader region of Philadelphia. I do not have an exact mile range that I work within. Many of my offerings can take place virtually as well, for those who are farther out. or would prefer a session over Zoom for any reason. For readings, I often meet at coffee shops or in pubic places. For more intimate offerings (such as a birth or death plan creation) I meet in a client's home, if desired. The decision is left up to the person receiving services.
Why Cyclical Revelations?
As I am stepping into the next phase of my life, I have been remarking on the innate abilities I have to engage in transformation. I have always been drawn to the cycles in life. The moon, the seasons, my own bleeding. I've watched them unfold and repeat in my life, and have found ways to honor them within me and outside of me. By studying and engaging with the movements around them, these cycles have brought me profound discoveries and inspiration. Learning to embrace the inevitables of nature & disrupt the patterns that no longer serve me has brought my inner wisdom outward. Through these revelations, transformations, and honoring/disrupting of cycles, I've found my own sense of autonomy and joy.
What are your accessibility policies?
In order to make my work accessible to as many people as possible, I work on a sliding scale model. The offered prices in my services list are the middle of my typical range. Paying at a higher price point makes space for me to offer discounted services for those who could not otherwise afford them. The lower price points are meant for people who are unable to pay (due to the oppression affecting financial status) to access these healing services. If you wish to pay more or less for a service or product, please contact me via email.
If you are unfamiliar with the sliding scale model, I encourage you to check out the Green Bottle Method, by Worts and Cunning Apothecary. This is a tool to examine your privileges, and how that plays into your financial situation.
I also offer heavily discounted services as a form of reparations for Black and Indigenous folks. Please email me if you would like to use this discount.
I don't currently have a brick and mortar location to meet with clients. All services (with the exception of attending a birth or death) are available virtually. I highly encourage the use of this option. It helps limit the spread of Covid and other illnesses, which prioritizes the health of the collective, especially immunocompromised, chronically ill, and disabled folks. If Zoom is not accessible to you, please email me to make alternative arrangements.
How can I support your work?
There are several ways to support my work. Following on social media, subscribing to the newsletter, and booking a service are all helpful in sustaining what I do. I hope to launch a line of herbal and self-care related products, as well as zines. You may also find me at local vending events. Keep an eye on my Instagram for the latest update on that!
